I moved to Los Angeles from Haifa, Israel, at the age of 15 and enrolled at Beverly Hills High School the day after my arrival. Beyond the inevitable culture shock, I also witnessed legal prescription drug abuse for the first time. Most of my peers were reliant on medication and I could not help but wonder how these drugs may affect their longterm physical and mental health. For this collection, I drew inspiration from both the literal pills and capsules, often vibrantly colorful, and the abstract idea of unseen genetic mutation.
